Nyashanu Mission High School, girls hostel caught fire this day in the morning and no casualties had been reported.

The hostel which accommodates 70 learners was reduced to ashes as the occupants where in church with other students for the Monday morning assembly.

Few items were served from the fire inferno and little information was obtained as the school Head, Jackson Dunatuna referred all questions to the Buhera District School Inspector.

The School Inspector, Talkmore Nhengu could not be reached for comment before the time of publishing as the mobile number supplied was not being answered.

However, in a memo to the parents, the school head advised parents that the authority were still assessing the loss and efforts were being made to contain the situation and calm learners.

Alternative accommodation for the affected learners is being created and responsible authorities have been informed.

Dunatuna informed the parents that learning will not be affected and parents of the affected learners will be contacted individually for any urgent provisions for the children.
