In a developing case of dog eat dog, Detective Constable (D/C) Simudzirai stationed at CID Mwenezi stabbed Constable (Cst) Hove when beer binge turned violent yesterday in Karoi.
An internal communication by CID Karoi (Hot Brief) states that Cst Hove stationed at Karoi Urban Police Station, the complainant was drinking beer at Kutepa Ultra City Nite Club, Chinhoyi when D/C Simudzirai had a misunderstanding with other patrons who are civilians.
Cst Chiweza who is stationed at ZRP Karoi Urban came to refrain and the accused dragged him outside the nite and hit him with a fist once on the forehead.
Cst Hove also went to refrain and the accused produced an okapi knife and stabbed him once on the stomach resulting in thecomplainanant’s intestines protruding from the belly.
The complainant, Cst Hove was rushed to Karoi District hospital by Cst Chiweza and other members of the public.
Accused, D/C Simudzirai disappeared from the scene and went home.
Case was reported at ZRP Karoi Urban and accused was arrested at his residence at stand number 744 Claudia, Karoi.
Cst Hove has since been transferred to Chinhoyi Provincial hospital as his condition is serious.
Accused has been detained under ZRP Karoi Urban DB800/24.
