Unity, peace and mutual engagement bring sustainable development in any progressive society, Council for Churches in Africa (CCA)statement on Unity Day revealed.
It is the time Clergymen reflect on how tolerance and coexistence mechanisms transformed Zimbabwe thus far.
CCA revealed that, “We celebrate Unity Day annually on every 22nd of December as a means to respect, adhere and conform to the founding principal values of the unity accord.
We really appreciate the efforts by both stakeholders, stockholders and institutions involved in the upbringing and existence of the Unity Day after signing the unity accord.
Through tolerance, we compromise as Clergymen for realisation of a just society and progress.
Compassion has taught us to forgive and forget.
Love has taught us to unite and multiply as a nation. Honesty has ultimately led us into building trust amongst our people.
Tolerance has given everyone an opportunity to co-exist with others.
We really appreciate the efforts by both stakeholders, stockholders and institutions involved in the upbringing and existence of the Unity Day after signing the unity accord”.
